Good Music, Friends and Scholarship Success!
The Waltrip Imperial Guard Alumnae fundraising event for 2012 was held
on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 7-11 pm at the Live Oak Bar and Grill. The local band "Last Call" (Waltrip Alumni

were held with all monies going to the scholarship fund. The IGA has given over $83,500 in college scholarships since 2000

Community Service Scholarships: Since 1998, IGA has presented $71,500in scholarships
to worthy students from Waltrip and/or Waltrip Alumni. Scholarships are given on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement,
activities, awards, honors, leadership, and community/volunteer service. Sally’s House: As part of its commitment
to community service, IGA “adopted” Sally’s House, a Salvation Army transitional residence for women who
have completed a substance abuse detoxification program. Sally’s House provides women with a safe atmosphere in which
to build the skills and stability to become economically and emotionally self-sufficient. IGA visits Sally’s House,
providing shared activities with the residents, including seasonal decorating and mini-workshops. IGA members also donate
clothing, books and toiletries to the residents.
