"ATTENTION!" We raised just over $1700 through membership donations. Thank you for your gifts. During the year, you can also consider
another tax-deductible gift to the scholarship program. Paula Peeples Waller '68 won the drawing for the earrings. Our
scholarship winners include four from Waltrip: Chelsea Fain, Steven Roberts, Megan Russell and Katie McClosky. Three winners
are from Waltrip alumni and they include: Mandy Alexander from Cy-Creek, Peter Stanton from Bryan and John Thompson from Cy-Woods.
Congratulations! The scholarship committee led by Donna Sanford Holle' 63, had a committee comprised of Connie Kelley,
Paula Waller and Cindy Reibenstein that did a blind review of all the applications. Since the IGA began we have now
given over $71,000 in scholarships. GREAT JOB! On July 11, 2010 we gave service to the women at
Sally's House. The two hours there are very meaningful to them and we receive tremendous amount of inner peace as well as
we listen to their stories while trying to help with the activity that Paula Waller and Mary Schroeder picked out.
This summer the women did visor decoration. This gift is perfect for them as they are useful and in this heat, good to help
block the sun. The women are very grateful! Maybe you can join us for our next outting there. Take time on
a Sunday afternoon and join a great service project. You will come away feeling very grateful. Sally's
House is directly across the street from Minute Maid Park--private parking. Maybe you can take some time and enjoy this activity.
The Opening of Waltrip
was 50 years ago this coming fall. The Anniversary celebration plans are underway. Numerous activities: from golf, bowling, dance,
picnic to a car parade, car show, BBQ lunch and a fabulous program complete with band, choir, alumni from across the years...

your friends; Dates- Friday, October 15 thru Sunday, October 17. Check out the website: www.waltrip50.org The summer is coming and we are gearing
up for this anniversary and for the IGA's scholarship project---Legacy Pathway/Garden at the entrance of the school. It
will tie in with the Beautification Project from the 50th Anniversary Gift. Please consider giving toward this project.

Community Service Scholarships: Since 1998, IGA has presented $71,500in scholarships
to worthy students from Waltrip and/or Waltrip Alumni. Scholarships are given on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement,
activities, awards, honors, leadership, and community/volunteer service. Sally’s House: As part of its commitment
to community service, IGA “adopted” Sally’s House, a Salvation Army transitional residence for women who
have completed a substance abuse detoxification program. Sally’s House provides women with a safe atmosphere in which
to build the skills and stability to become economically and emotionally self-sufficient. IGA visits Sally’s House,
providing shared activities with the residents, including seasonal decorating and mini-workshops. IGA members also donate
clothing, books and toiletries to the residents.
